Recap - Massan Week 10, Ep 57

Massan

Week 10: "It is darkest under the lamp post"

Episode 57 (12/3/2014)
Massan and everyone at Kamoi Shop are now trying to recruit workers to help in their whisky department and end up choosing an interesting bunch.

RECAP:
At Kamoi Shop, they are interviewing several potential candidates to work for the company in making whisky. The first guy is very serious about work but Mr. Kamoi asks him to show him his special talent which is when he attempts to whistle a tune. He then asks each of the other candidates to show their talents one at a time, turning the interview into a big talent show. The last guy is supposedly good at arm wrestling so, naturally, he is put up against Massan in an arm wrestling match! The guy distracts Massan and ends up winning the match.

After the interview, they talk about how there were no candidates with good experience and Mr. Kamoi asks Massan about the people he mentioned from Hiroshima but Massan hasn't gotten in contact with them yet.

Massan asks for one more interview but Mr. Kamoi says it is a waste of time. Mr. Kamoi then suggests that they hire Ono, the one who was good at calculations in his head, Nakamura, who was good at arm wrestling, and then Omiya, the whistler, because his name sounds lucky to him.

They end up hiring those three and then Mr. Kamoi asks Massan about his construction plans for the distillery. Massan then shows him his miniature model of the future distillery, impressing everyone with the detail involved. However, they are very surprised at the amount of land necessary for the whole facility. They start to rearrange his layout and suggest different locations for each department while Massan argues every move.

Massan visits Sado Factory and finds that Mr. Sado has already made one of the potstills. Mr. Sado starts to talk up Mr. Kamoi as quite a dynamic person but Massan doesn't understand what he sees in him. Mr. Sado encourages Massan to stay strong.

Ellie is still thinking about what Shinchan taught to her and begins to understand Japanese houses. She is eager to tell Massan of her new discovery as she waits for him to come home.

Massan, however, is back at Kohinobori again drinking. Ellie then shows up and sits down with him. She tries to explain her renovation plans but Massan tells her to talk about it later at home. Ellie gets upset that he never wants to talk or even listen to her no matter where they are and decides that she wants to drink too. She soon gets drunk and Massan is the one taking her home as she sings the whole way.

Early the next morning she wakes Massan up and tells him to get up and go for a walk.
