Week 11: "There is no treasure more precious than a child"
Episode 61 (12/8/2014)
Recaps will be a little shorter for the next few weeks. During this time of year, my job keeps me pretty busy so I find it hard to spend a lot of time on recaps. I will try not to leave out anything too important though. If you have any questions about anything I left out, let me know and I would be happy to explain! :)
RECAP:
Ellie has told Massan that she is pregnant and Massan is so happy about the news but starts to worry constantly about Ellie, concerned that she might overdo things during her pregnancy.
Toshio is helping Massan at the new whisky distillery in Yamazaki and things appear to be going well. Mr. Kamoi announces that the barrels for the whisky in have arrived Massan explains to Mr. Kamoi that the barrels are like a cradle for the whisky. They barrels take care of the whisky and even though they all look the same and are stored in the same location, each barrel will hold a slightly different flavor.
As Massan and Ellie arrive home from Kohinobori that night, they are surprised to see Mr. Kamoi show up with his oldest son, Eichiro. He explains that he had Eichiro go to university but he didn't take it seriously enough. Massan asks him what he would like to do but Eichiro doesn't answer. Mr. Kamoi then says that he wants him to help Massan out with making whisky and therefore wants him to stay with him and Ellie. He tells Ellie that Eichiro wants to study abroad in Europe and asks her to teach him English. Massan looks like he is about to tell Mr. Kamoi about Ellie being pregnant but before he can, Ellie accepts Mr. Kamoi's requests. She turns to ask Eichiro what he thinks and he replies that he would like to stay as long as it isn't too much trouble for them. Mr. Kamoi then returns home, leaving Eichiro with Massan and Ellie.
