Recap - Massan Week 11, Ep 66

Massan

Week 11: "There is no treasure more precious than a child"

Episode 66 (12/13/2014)

RECAP:
Massan comes out of Ellie's hospital room and finds that Eichiro has been waiting outside. He apologizes for everything and says that it was his fault Ellie fell.

The next morning at the Yamazaki distillery, Mr. Kamoi gets everyone together and tells them that Massan will be taking some time off to be with Ellie. He also announces that he has invited several reporters to come and will hold a formal tour of their Yamazaki distillery next month where he would like to introduce the first making of whisky in Japan.

Catherine comes to visit Ellie in the hospital and tells her that Massan went to work but will be back soon. Once Massan and Eichiro show up, they try to keep the atmosphere light in the room but once Eichiro sees Ellie, he begins to cry as he apologizes to her. Ellie tells him that it is not his fault though; it is her fault for being so clumsy.

Massan tries to lift her spirits by telling her that once they get through this challenge and she becomes healthy again, they will have another baby. This brings a smile to Ellie's face.

Ellie goes to sleep and Eichiro goes to change the water for her flowers. Massan is about to leave to get a change of clothes when the doctor comes in and asks to speak with him out in the hallway. He tells Massan that Ellie's condition has been improving quite well but that it would be dangerous for her to try to have another baby as her blood amount is abnormally low.

This leaves Massan speechless as well as Eichiro who had returned and heard what the doctor said. The doctor continues saying that actually, if Ellie hadn't fallen and lost the baby, she would have been in even more danger as she went through her pregnancy.

Massan breaks down in tears asking why this is happening to them.
